Obituary
Be the first to share your memories or express your condolences in the Guest Book for Donald H. "Skip" WILCOX.
WILCOX, Donald H. "Skip" 03/31/1936-04/21/2013 What do you say to summarize the life of a man who touched so many lives? He was born in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School. He was an Eagle Scout and active in many sports. He attended Willamette University, after graduation joined the USAF. He served 20 years retiring as a Lt. Colonel in Great Falls, MT. Skip stayed in Montana to raise his girls and work with various youth programs within the State. After his girls were "grown" Skip settled in Bayview, ID on Lake Pend Oreille where his father and grandfather once lived. The lake and community became his new love, boats and goats. Skip leaves behind four daughters; Jenny (Jim) West of Yakima, WA; Julie Peone and Jill Adams of Spokane, WA; and Joanna (Doug) Anderson of Couer d Alene, ID. Grandchildren Jessica Duffy of Everett, WA; Kurt, Kelsey, Katie, Kolton Peone and Jacqueline Adams of Spokane, WA and Jordan Anderson of Coeur d'Alene, ID. Great Grandchildren Madeline and Molly Duffy and JaQuis Peone. He is also survived by his brother Jack JB Wilcox of Spokane, WA and his former wife Kathy Wilcox of Yakima, WA along with numerous cousins. A celebration of his life will be held June 1 in Bayview, ID at 1:00 pm. Please feel free to post a note or memory at: www.belltowerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers/donations "Give someone a HUG".

Skip Wilcox & Tom Lloyd 4 14 2013

Just a note to let everyone know if you have not heard already that Skip is back in the hospital.

Jamie called to let me know more on his condition.

Skip is feeling and can have guests, he probably needs the banter anyway to keep him on his toes!
He has an infection and will be at Kootenai until Monday with possible release on Tuesday.
Stop by and see him if you have the chance.
We need to hold dear those we care about!

Also Tom Lloyd is doing well after his hip surgery, he probably needs some cheering up too! Not sure about Jackie so maybe we need to cheer her up too!

In Memory of a Fine Lady

Sometimes there are folks who just plain touch our lives, often in ways that we never recognize. It is with regret and sorrow I am writing to let you know that one fantastic lady has left our midst.

Laverne Rickel was one of those women who had maintained grace and aplomb. I first met Laverne at the B.A.B.’s meetings and came to know her better while I volunteered my time with the Athol American Legion Auxiliary. She will be greatly missed.

Laverne passed away April 4th 2013. My friend Joey, sent me an email to inform of her passing.

Her funeral will be held at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’ Alene at 2 pm. A reception will follow the funeral at the Bayview Community Center approximately starting at 3:30 pm. Both B.A.B.’s and the Auxiliary will be providing the potluck.

This is a woman who was an icon for the Bayview Community as well as Athol. Laverne spent many hours volunteering her time with these two groups. She will be missed by many.
