Whew!

I think I made it back to the site and things look a little better. Thank you for your patience.

One of my dear friends who is stuck in California is not doing very well, I am asking those that read my blog to send some prayers for her and her husband, they really need the uplifting. Both Bill and Donna were there for us when we needed encouragement and love. They are a wonderful couple and I really want to see them come home soon.

Those of you who have gone to The Wheel and were not happy with the service let Pat and Teresa know. The food is fantastic. Introduce yourselves! Say HI and welcome to Bayview. Show you support and with any luck we will have some place to have dinner on cold and dreary winter evenings.

While I did not purchase rose colored glasses as I threatened, I did manage to fine a pair of frames that convey the "rose colored" theme!

This is still a work in progress ......

Full Moon and Other Stuff

On my way to work the other I got the pleasure of seeing the full moon setting in the west, what a gorgeous site. I was geared for full moon craziness at work but the day seemed to slide by pleasantly.

I see my fawn is still crossing Highway 54 following its mother. I happened to be driving by shortly after the fawn was born. Mom was nudging the baby across the road. I sure hope no one hits my fawn, while we have not had the chance to have many conversations, I get a particular delight when I see the pair early in the morning.

We had visitors not too long ago. Dean was working at The Wheel when our former boss came strolling in. Seems "Big Bob" Konczak and his lovely wife Marcia were traveling back home to Colorado from a fantastic trip in Alaska. They thought they would stop by and have a green chili burrito. Unfortunately Dean was still in transition, breakfast had not started yet at The Wheel. Bob and Marcia became like family to us as we worked 5 years for them in a Casino known as Johnny Nolon's located in the small mining town of Cripple Creek Colorado.

Dean and I have been so very lucky through out our lives to have so many people we care about. Seeing Bob again brought tears to our eyes. All of our children and the Konczak children worked at Johnny Nolon's. Small communities bring close friends and build strong ties.

As I accessed the Internet this evening I noticed a story concerning a small North Idaho community. Seems this morning Scott found a six foot tall gold Egyptian mummy case on the roof of the Mercantile. Speculations are the mummy case may be an anniversary gift. Who knows, maybe it was the Grinch again!!

All for now and those of you who enjoyed Dean's Green Chili Burrito can find the item at The Wheel.
The Wheel has fantastic food and a wonderful group of employees.

Around Town

As Herb so recently pointed out things in Bayview have settled down since our infamous Bayview Daze. Seemed like there were more folks in town this year but I understand that more people did not necessarily mean more sales for the vendors. Not sure whether this was because there were too many folks in town or quite simply the fact that people do not have a great deal of expendable cash.
On Sunday night I grabbed my collection can for the fireworks and worked my way up and down the first hundred feet of Cape Horn Road and Perimeter. Most folks gave what they could, some simply ignored me, and others just did not have any spare change. I thanked those who acknowledged me and asked them to come back again next year! The show as usual was fantastic or at least what I could see of the show. Will I walk up and down Cape Horn again next year, you betcha, me and my rose colored glasses.

Since I recently fried my glasses I am seriously considering ordering a pair of rose colored glasses. I sure like seeing the positive side of life!

In case you had not noticed, Bayview now has banners posted on poles around town. The banners were donated to the Chamber and Vic Woolever, our Vice President of the Chamber climbed a ladder and secured the banners. He is not overly fond of heights. I just want to thank him. He has certainly become a valued addition to our community. If you see him tell him thanks! Funny thing happened and we are not quite sure but the banner on the Chambers light pole located on the corner of Marietta and Main came down, seems kind of strange because that banner was securely attached to the pole, kind makes one wonder if the Grinch is back up to his tricks again. Anyway we figured since the Chamber pays for the light and had the pole installed we could put a banner on the pole. Anyone sees that Grinch running around you might want to ask him!

My friend from Spokane came to visit this past weekend. Chipmunk, Buddy, Sugar, and Bo were all really happy to share "their" room with Tina. It was delight to see her as usual!

Just wanted to say hello!
Oh by the way I think that the Chamber did just fine this past weekend.

Saturday July 2, 2011

What a fantastic day! The weather is beautiful, the town not too crowded and the parade was great.
I had fun seeing a lot of old friends today. Actually was privileged to watch the parade this year and actually go pictures around town.

All went well with the BAB's Booth, the Show and Shine went smoothly thanks to Vic, and the Chamber did relatively well considering the location.
We had a couple of glitches with the hosting organization but those things will smooth out.

Dean and I had dinner at The Wheel on Friday night and the food was excellent. After arriving home Chipmunk decided for the third this week to take herself for a walk. I finally caught up to her over on 5th Street, not sure why she would not come to since I have never hurt her, guess she just needed to check town out. If you ever see a white female Siberian Husky loose it is probably Chipmunk. She loves people and is very friendly, I should be following behind her shortly!
